Barry Rexrode, a native of Appalachia, found his love for being in the kitchen in the late 80’s after a family friend peaked his interest in the BBQ realm. Over the next 20 years, Barry & his family developed what is revered as being the most versatile BBQ sauce ever made. We brewed & canned the sauce from home, bottle it in mason jars, & sold or gifted it to friends and family. Eventually, friends began buying gallons at a time because no one knew when our next batches were going to be made. Year after year, we produced larger quantities & were urged to go into business producing the sauce on a more regular basis. In August of 2009 our first commercial batch was produced. Attending festivals provided positive feedback & validated our product's place in the market, prompting our development of "Black Powder Blend" (a spicier kick-up of our original recipe). With our new business, we vowed to continue our commitment to fresh ingredients in our production process no matter the cost. Our recipes feature ingredients that CANNOT be found in commercial sauces. Fresh garlic cloves, fresh onions, & fresh horseradish are just a few.
